Some match always winds up doing it, doesn’t it? Every year, some match steals the show. So which match will it be at WM33?
I’ve already written about this in an article this week, but I think the ‘match of the night’ will be awarded to Kevin Owens versus Chris Jericho. Two incredible WWE talents, with a vast amount of experience under their belt, looking to create a powerful impact on the Grandest Stage of Them All.
Kevin Owens is still fairly new when it comes to his Wrestlemania experiences and while he’s had a tremendous run as RAW’s Universal Champion, I believe he has the heart and desire to truly knock it out of the park when it comes to the big event – and prove something to those naysayers out there who don’t believe he’s a main event talent. Jericho has nothing to prove at WM, per se, but knows what it takes to bring his ‘A-game’ forward to put forth a match that everyone will be talking about on Monday morning.
I think I can say this about the card. There aren’t many matches that to me scream “can’t miss, going to be great”. Like, there’s no HBK/Hart, no Rock/Hogan or any other mega-match. But what we do have, is a lot of options that could, in their own ways, steal the show.
With a triple threat tag teal LADDER MATCH (emphasis mine), could we get a Hardys return? If so, that could certainly steal the show (even though I think SmackDown is in desperate need of talent). Shane and AJ could steal the show, because Shane is crazy, and AJ is just the best in the business. I think Corbin and Ambrose might end up surprising a lot of folks, being better than you’d expect. And I agree with Dor, that Owens/Jericho is going to be a strong candidate.
But, since the women did it last year, I think this year could be the same type of result. They’ve added another woman to the mix, and two of the four weren’t even on the main roster last year. But I think if these four work as hard or harder than those in the triple threat last year in Dallas? Then no question the women’s match steals the show.
There are a few candidates out there. Chris Jericho vs. Kevin Owens, the ladder match and the fatal four-way. Each one has something that makes the match special.
Owens admired Jericho growing up, so here’s a pair of wrestlers that know each other pretty well. With their skill level and knowledge of working a crowd, this will be tough one to beat when it pertains to actual wrestling and emotion. A ladder match is always interesting to me and with three team from RAW, who knows what insane spots will be pulled off. Last year the ladies the stole the show and have a chance to repeat history. Charlotte and Sasha Banks return for another WrestleMania as Nia Jax and Bayley debut. With Banks possibly turning heel, it makes everything more interesting from start to finish.
