The NXT roster always continues to change and there have been some major shifts in the current leaders. With many wrestlers starting to head up to the main roster, the dynamic of NXT looks different and here are the top superstars that now run the place.

Bobby Roode was a star in the making during his early days in TNA and eventually peaked as a decent champion. In NXT, he reminds me of a Ric Flair with the robe and ladies on both sides. There’s nothing flashy about Roode, he’s a good worker who goes at his slow pace. It felt like NXT was missing a solid stable since the Wyatt Family departed. Sanity, while somewhat similar to the Wyatt Family, are four people that bring out the extra craziness. Eric Young is a great leader for younger talent and having a female in the group does help. Nikki Cross and EY are over; now it’s up to the rest of the group to follow. Asuka is in the NXT history books for being the longest reigning champion in history. Looking at the competition, there doesn’t appear to be anyone ready to claim the title. Maybe Nikki Cross in a few months, but that’s a stretch. The stiff shots from Asuka is what absorbs the crowd to her. Since she’s still working on cutting her promos in English, she might need to stick around NXT for longer than hoped. Personally, I’m not a fan of The Authors of Pain; but, it’s hard to deny their dominance. They’ve been unstoppable for about a year and recently won the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic and then the tag titles. They took out their biggest competition in DIY and The Revival, leaving few teams to try and actually defeat AOP. It’s been a long road for Roderick Strong, who finally landed a spot in WWE’s developmental. He was considered for years one of the best wrestlers never signed to a WWE deal because of his size. Strong has previous fans from the Indy scene and is gaining more each week with his style of wrestling. He is a bit old, but there’s plenty of time to make an impact.
