WWE was back with their first installment of Great Balls Of Fire. After some questionable decisions as of late, the WWE needed to make changes. Not all the changes worked and here’s what the company needs to improve on for next year.
If you missed Great Balls of Fire, check our play by play. Big Cass made quick work of Enzo, showing who was the true star in their tag team. The reaction from the live crowd showed that they’re accepting Big Cass as a heel. To help sell the newly turned heel, he should have beat Enzo even further after the bell. Maybe, Big Cass should have tossed Enzo over the top rope again; but this time, have him land on the steel entrance ramp. While Austin Aries deserved better than being in the cruiserweight division, his feud with Neville showed the potential of the lighter wrestlers. With Aries gone and Neville already going through all the legit contenders, I’m not sure who can take the title away. It seemed obvious Akira Tozawa wasn’t the right person to represent he division as most people aren’t familiar with him. If Brock Lesnar is only going to defend the Universal Championship every few months, at least make the match count. Counting the time it took for Lesnar to walk towards the ring, get jumped before the bell and then win the match, it totaled about 10 minutes. From Lesnar’s perspective, that’s a great deal. From a the perspective of a fan, it felt like a slap in the face. I don’t think my eyes can take another match between The Miz and Dean Ambrose. They battled for too long and it shows that WWE is finding trouble locating other feuds for a pair of former WWE Champions. Nothing against the match, but we’ve seen it countless times before. Both can seemingly work well with others, so it’s time for a change before fans grow sick of Ambrose and The Miz. I wanted to see some ruthless aggression from Sasha Banks after Alexa Bliss took the cheap way out by getting counted out. We saw Banks fight Bliss up the ramp and hit the double knees from the announce table to the floor. We’ve seen that spot before and I wish Sasha showed some rage. For someone who is called “The Boss,” I think Sasha needs to show more anger and passion.
