The WWE returned to pay per view with Sunday’s WrestleMania 33, where titles changed hands and 13 matches were shoved down our throats. Overall, the seven hours moved along but the show felt bland at times. Somewhere in that mix of ordinary, five wrestlers left WrestleMania 33 as real winners.
For anyone who missed it,
WrestleNewz has WrestleMania 33 play by play coverage. Follow WresltNewz’s Joe on Twitter at @JosephLisnow Looking back, WrestleMania will be remembered for two things and one is The Hardy Boyz returning. A year ago, they were feuding in TNA with the new Broken gimmick. Who would have thought that they would reinvent themselves in the process. Now, they once again are tag team champions under the WWE umbrella. Shane McMahon is no wrestler, but he’s studied combat sports and has no fear; even in his older age. The wrestling from Shane wasn’t his strong spot, though everything changed when the referee got taken out. Shane went to his well of tricks like the elbow through the announce table, coast-to-coast and, a freaking shooting star press. Some people just can’t work behind a desk. As a whole, the Fatal-Way Elimination Match was disappointing. With such talent and a rich history, I was expecting more out of the four ladies. Nia Jax was the star, despite being in the ring such a short time. She showed how to use her size to stop three other wrestlers. Eventually, the numbers got the better of Nia; though, her performance showed future championship material. If Seth Rollins ever needed a win, it was against Triple H at WrestleMania. These two have been battling since September and it finally came to a head on Sunday. Rollins winning could mean the student has now become the teacher. We will have to see if this feud is over and I’m thinking not. After 13 years, Brock Lesnar has done basically the one thing that has alluded his career. He cleanly pinned Goldberg and not before dropping the WCW icon on his head 10 times courtesy of German suplexes. Now Brock can go back to doing what he does best: conquering everyone in is path.
