According to Entertainment Weekly, Chris Jericho’s new show called “Robot Combat League” will premiere on February 26th, 2013 on the SyFy channel.

Jericho will host the RCL, which will feature robots battling in a “rock ’em sock ’em” boxing cage format. The show is inspired by the “Real Steel” movie starring Hugh Jackman.

Robot Combat League will consist of 12 teams and each robot will be controlled by various individuals, including a race car driver, an Olympic athlete, a National Guard helicopter pilot, and an MMA fighter. Fights will consist of three rounds and the winning robot advances to the next round. The winning team receives a $100,000 prize at the end of the season.

Jericho’s role as host will be setting up each competition and the play-by-play announcer handling commentary during the boxing-style robot fights.
