– A few weeks back, the Bella Twins returned inside a wrestling ring on RAW. Nikki and Brie Bella teamed to defeat the Riott Squad. During the match, Brie tried twice for the suicide dive with disastrous results.
On the first attempt, Brie didn’t even get out of the ring as she was tangled in the ropes. The second saw Brie connect with the move, but she landed awkwardly on the outside. Instead of hitting the opponents, Brie basically landed face first on the outside in a scary looking spot. The botches could be a result of ring rust or having a child and the commitments that follow.
“With any type of physical body change, it changes so much,” said Brie to Yahoo. Even last week on ‘Raw’ when I did the suicide dive and it was less momentum than I should have had, I forgot that I’m 10 pounds heavier than what I was. Gravity doesn’t lie. That was a little different for me. I don’t mind if I fail or if I succeed. No matter what, I want to look back with no regrets. If I fail, last week for example, I went to sleep at night and I was kind of bummed out, but I learned something about myself. I learned where my body is at, where I am at.”
The suicide dive is a dangerous move and it seems nowadays wrestlers try to insert one in every match. The overuse has hurt the allure the move once had and someday a wrestler is going to get hurt. While the move should be banned, WWE needs to have less wrestlers attempting the spot.
On Twitter, Riddle and Velveteen Dream have been going back and forth. This has led to speculation that they will work a program together. There is a chance that Riddle will debut at the next set of TV tapings.
Riddle is a former UFC fighter that has found much more success in pro wrestling than MMA. He did not leave the UFC on the best of terms with Dana White due to failing two drug tests for marijuana.
