– After lots of speculation, word is Daniel Bryan has signed a new contract with WWE. The news was first reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. They agreed on terms and the contract was signed by Bryan a few days ago. All that’s left is for WWE to sign the contract, which is just a formality.
Even before Daniel re-signed with WWE, there seemed to be growing faith that the deal would get done. Bryan had been heavily featured for WWE in recent weeks and was booked for several major shows. If WWE never cleared Bryan to return inside the ring, he would have left the promotion and been a top star around the world.
No word on the length or any details of the contract. At least WWE was able to keep one of their biggest stars as there was lots of doubt.
– Any concerns over the Mae Young Classic finals should be over. Toni Storm did suffer an injury, but has been cleared to compete. Before the finals at October’s Evolution, Storm is being advertised for PROGRESS Wrestling. The show is September 30 and comes from London’s SSE Arena in Wembley. She will be in a triple threat with Jinny and Millie McKenzie.
The injury was never made public by WWE or Storm, but it did occur at the NXT UK tapings back in August. Here’s PROGRESS Wrestling’s tweet on the match.
