– There could be a double turn come Hell in a Cell. WWE had the idea of Becky Lynch portraying the heel and Charlotte Flair the face, but fans have been leaning in the other direction. During Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez noted how WWE changed their plans.
Originally, Asuka was going to turn heel after a lackluster push on the main roster. Instead Becky was given the heel status, but the reaction by fans has caused speculation of a change.
“I will stand by this until the show occurs and it doesn’t happen that you’re going to see a double turn at Hell In A Cell,” said Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Live.
We have seen the double turn before, with the most memorable possibly being Steve Austin and Bret Hart at WrestleMania 13. Austin turned face and became one of the biggest stars in pro wrestling. Hart made a long-awaited heel turn and would remain one of WWE’s biggest attractions until his departure for WCW.
As for Asuka, she seems to be working alongside Naomi at the moment. No word if WWE will go forward with an eventual heel run, but it wouldn’t hurt.
– On RAW, Lio Rush appeared to get a new gimmick. He was spotted with Bobby Lashley, sort of acting like a mouthpiece and to help hype the former ECW Champion. Back in June, rush debuted on 205 Live as a heel. His main roster debut was in much doubt after making comments about Emma’s release. He basically issued an apology to save his career.
Considering the past two weeks, Kevin Owens and Lashley seem to be headed for a new program. Neither is currently booked for Sunday’s Hell in a Cell pay per view.
Below are videos from RAW between Rush and Lashley.
