Aleister Black has undergone surgery after getting injured last weekend during a live event from Las Vegas according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. We’re still waiting on word about the injury, but it occurred after being crotched by Tommaso Ciampa.
There is major concern that Black will be unable to compete at Takeover Brooklyn IV on August 18, where he was to wrestle in a triple threat match with Johnny Gargano and Ciampa. All of the NXT episodes before the Takeover show were taped before injury and heavily featured Black. WWE is yet to publicly announce the injury.
At the tapings, Black dropped the NXT World Championship to Ciampa after Gargano accidentally caused the title change. There had been talk of Black heading to the main roster shortly, but everything could be on hold with the injury.
Stay tuned for more.
