– On SmackDown, we saw what looks like a new pairing in R-Truth and Carmella. After having words with The Miz & Maryse, Carmella accompanied R-Truth to the ring as he won in the main event. The two will be part of season two’s Mixed Match Challenge which starts in a about a week.
After the upset victory, R-Truth posted a video on Twitter to celebrate getting back in the win column. It got a reply from Zelina Vega and Andrade “Cien” Almas, which has led to speculation that those duos could start a feud. Below is the the back and forth that got people talking.

R-Truth has mostly been absent from TV before getting the surprise main event spot on Tuesday night. Carmella has been a heel, but she could be going the face route after losing the SmackDown Women’s Championship and subsequent rematch. Almas & Vega have been highly featured since joining SmackDown, working with a short program with Sin Cara and then Daniel Bryan.
– Speaking of SmackDown, Paige has decided to change her look. The SmackDown General Manager showed off a shorter hairstyle on Instagram.

Compared to a year ago, Paige has completely changed since dropping Alberto Del Rio. The two had a turbulent relationship that saw police get involved, Paige failed two drugs tests from WWE and there was lots of talk about how frail the former wrestler looked. Paige returned to WWE, but was quickly forced into retirement due to injury.
Paige was then given the general manger spot on SmackDown, which has been a success. Since Paige’s in-ring career ended at such a young age, it’s nice to see her make the transition into another role under WWE’s name.
