Smackdown Live: 8 pm EST

Show opens up and Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn are in the ring. Owens calls it the “Sami & Kevin Show” and Sami calls it the “Kevin & Sami Show.” They smile at each other and then they start talking about how the McMahons have a penchant for taking their pound of flesh and screwing people. Just ask Bret Hart and many others. Case in point, last week Shane McMahon tried to end Owens’ career using Randy Orton as a vessel to do so. Sami points out that Stephanie McMahon used to use Orton as her personal weapon as well.

While Owens and Sami have had to scratch and claw, Orton gets shown favoritism and given an easy road. Shane did everything he could to stack the deck against Owens last week by banning Sami from ringside. Sami then addresses Shane directly, demonstrating the difference between being in the ring, and being at ringside. Sami points out that at ringside you might see a crappy announce team, or a crowd full of undesirables. And as he walks along, he gets to where the ramp begins and Sami says that, by the time you pass this mark, you are no longer technically at ringside.

So where Sami hit Orton with the steel chair was not a ringside. Sami and Owens played within Shane’s restrictions and still came out on top. Suddenly, Orton is in the ring and he delivers an RKO to Owens out of nowhere. Then Shane’s music hits and he comes out. Shane says it’s not true that he has a vendetta against Sami and Owens. In response to them not being featured at Survivor Series, Shane says that at Clash Of Champions they will indeed be featured. The two of them will face Randy Orton and a partner of his choosing. But tonight, Sami Zayn will be going one-on-one with The Viper Randy Orton.

And Shane also says that Owens will be allowed at ringside. In fact, he insists on it because Owens will be handcuffed to the ring rope.

Owens and Sami are backstage and Owens is holding his neck, saying he can’t even turn his head. Owens asks Sami what happened. Sami explains that Shane made the match with Orton and that he insisted Owens be at ringside. Owens says that’s good and that he has a plan, but Sami says he doesn’t understand… He tells Owens that he’ll have to be handcuffed to the ring rope and Owens says that inhumane and he’s going to talk to Daniel Bryan.

Aiden English is in the ring with Rusev to sing a song dedicated to Rusev. He does a rendition of the 12 Days Of Christmas called the 12 Days Of Rusev. As he’s getting through it, The New Day’s music hits and they come out to interrupt.

Tag Team Match: The New Day vs. Rusev & Aiden English

Bell sounds and Kofi Kingston starts taking it to English. Kofi lays English out and is about to drop a shot on him when Rusev pulls his partner out to safety. New Day dances and taunts in the ring as it cuts to commercial.

Back again and English is in control. He and Rusev cycle tags and cut the ring off as they deliver offense to Kofi. Rusev has Kofi in a bearhug and Kofi starts headbutting Rusev. He gets free momentarily but Rusev explodes with a jumping spin kick. He pins but Kofi gets the shoulder up. Rusev whips Kofi into the corner and Kofi comes back out with a jumping double stomp that takes Rusev off his feet. Finally, Kofi gets a tag to Big E who comes in hot.

Big E goes rope to rope and lands his standing splash for a 2-count on English. Rusev ends up dragging Big E out to ringside and whipping him into the steel steps. Then Kofi launches himself with a high-risk move over the top rope out onto him. They end up back in the ring and Rusev lands a brutal kick to the back of Kofi’s neck and gets the pinfall.

Winners: Rusev & Aiden English

Mojo Rawley is interviewed about his attack on former tag partner Zack Ryder. He says people are so worried about that but not about what Ryder did to him. When Ryder got hurt, Mojo went out on his own and won the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal. He was on the up and up but then Ryder came back and dragged him back down. Mojo says he’s a real competitor so if anyone has a problem with what he did to Ryder then they can shove it.

Smackdown General Manager Daniel Bryan is backstage talking to Carmella, Lana, and Tamina. He tells them that Clash Of Champions is just for title matches. Of course, Carmella could be in the Smackdown Women’s Title match if she cashed in her Money In The Bank briefcase. Carmella grabs it more tightly and says she’s not ready to part with it. Then The Riott Squad join the scene and start giving Bryan the gears about him not bringing them here to sit on the sidelines. Bickering ensues between all the women and Bryan suddenly erupts, telling them to be quiet. He resolves to make Natalya and Champion Charlotte Flair’s match a Lumberjack Match with all the women around the ring.

Baron Corbin and Bobby Roode are arguing about the fact that their title match is now a Triple Threat match with Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler enters and tells them both that he once cashed in his MITB contract successfully and became a defending champion. He also used to kill it at Kent State in wrestling. He tells them both their chances just went down to zero.

Tag Team Match: The Bludgeon Brothers vs. Jobber Team

Bell sounds and one of the opponents is cleared out of the ring and clobbered by Luke Harper with a brutal clothesline at ringside. Back in the ring and Erick Rowan hits a modified powerslam on the other guy. He and Harper deliver some dominant team offense, culminating in their finisher for the squash.

Winners: The Bludgeon Brothers

Sami Zayn asks Kevin Owens if he talked to Daniel Bryan. Sami is bugging out and Owens tells him to relax. Owens did talk to Bryan and he said he’d ‘think about it’. Sami asks what that means and Owens says that they’ll just have to wait and see…
