Smackdown Live: 8 pm EST

Show opens up and WWE United States Champion Kevin Owens’ music hits and he is the first addition to Smackdown from Raw during this shakeup. Owens is wearing a suit and has a clean shaven face, looking almost like a totally different person at first. He gets to the ring and welcomes everyone to the new Kevin Owens show. He says that Smackdown Live just got a huge upgrade because he’s there now and he brought the US Championship with him.

Owens says it may seem weird to some people that a Canadian is the United States Champion, but they should be thankful that the title is in good hands. Because everyone knows that Canada is a better country than the USA. The Montreal Canadiens beat this crowd’s Boston Bruins all the time. Owens tells everyone not to fear because he is going to be the new face of America.

Baron Corbin’s music hits and he comes out. He tells Owens that he may be able to beat up everyone in this audience, but he can’t beat Corbin up. Corbin says that since he beat Ambrose last week, and Ambrose beat Owens last night, then Corbin should have an easy time with Owens… Because Corbin is owed a title shot since Ambrose tucked tail and ran to Raw with his Intercontinental Championship.

Owens starts to say that Corbin is delusional and then Sami Zayn comes out as the second star introduced to Smackdown from Raw. Owens says that this can’t be real. Sami tells him that it is very real and that he is finally on Smackdown Live. Corbin says nobody cares that Sami is here. At this, AJ Styles’ music hits and he walks out to the ring. The crowd chants “AJ STYLES!” as his music stops and he stands there for a moment taking it in.

Styles says that, as they can see, this isn’t the Kevin Owens show. This is Smackdown Live. This isn’t about any of them. This is the house that AJ Styles built and he is still there. Smackdown General Manager Daniel Bryan’s music hits and he comes out to address everybody. He says it was advertised that Owens would be facing Chris Jericho for the US Title at Payback and that match still stands. So the US Title won’t be defended on the Blue Brand until after that. And the winner of that match, whether it is Owens or Jericho, will be a part of Smackdown Live.

Tonight, however, there will be a No. 1 Contenders Triple Threat Match between Corbin, Sami & Styles to determine who will face Owens or Jericho after Payback.
