I had a problem with this matchup, only because it’s just a bad spot for Sandow-he’s not that far removed from a world title shot. He should truly still be in that picture-though the “unification” later tonight kind of gunked that idea up. But, why put him into this match, with a new title holder and one who ideally gets to hang onto it for a while. It’s a no-win situation for a performer who should be getting a bit better treatment.
Sandow got in some good moves early on, but overall, Langston enjoyed displaying his power-which is impressive and may take him far in the company. Sandow surely got in enough offense, and it looked as though he could have taken the match, but Langston showed off his power and hit the Big Ending for the win and another title defense. Solid match.
