– With Brock Lesnar appearing at UFC 226 and WWE confirming that he will challenge UFC Heavyweight Champion (and also UFC Light Heavyweight Champion) Daniel Cormier, “The Beast” dropping the Universal Championship at SummerSlam has dramatically increased over the past 24 hours.
Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio commented how Lesnar has one match left on his current WWE contract. That is for SummerSlam, where he has been rumored to finally drop the title to Roman Reigns. Meltzer continued how Lesnar is also scherluded for the RAW following SummerSlam.
Unless Lesnar is somehow able to sign a deal with WWE and UFC at the same time, it appears he’s exiting the pro wrestling business following SummerSlam. A return to WWE is not out of the question since Lesnar turns 41 on July 12 and MMA is a young man’s sport.
At UFC 226, Lesnar came out and sat cage side for the main event, where Cormier won the title. The two got into a heated debate afterwards, which looked some what scripted.
– Fandango dropped a hint on Twitter that he was injured and WWE confirmed the news. The RAW superstar suffered a left labrum tear in his shoulder and surgery is set for Tuesday. He will miss at least six months of action.
For over two years now, Fandango has been teaming with Tyler Breeze as Breezango. They found their most success during the Fashion Police segments and worked mostly the bottom of the tag divisions on both brands.
Here’s Fandango’s tweet, which was later followed by WWE’s statement.
